Fishing on the Rodfather

     The Rodfather is a 28' FAST Mako! We now offer twice the amount of fishing time for a full day and more personalized hands on attention. This boat rides like a dream and has an enclosed head on board. Our family (Fred & Barbara Standard) started our deep sea fishing business  in Crystal River in 1974.  Their son Scott now runs the boat with Capt Che Ruble. Scott & Che have been fishing since they were in diapers and they have the experience to put the fish in the boat.  They begin your day with a ride down Citrus County's pristine Crystal River into the Gulf of Mexico anywhere from 25 to 50 miles offshore. When the boat arrives at the vast fishing grounds your bottom fishing adventure on the coral rocks and reefs begins! Get ready for fun! 

The Rodfather is licensed and abides by all maritime laws.

     Our crew prides itself on being the best in teaching and helping everyone catch and take home fish.  They will provide the latest up to date fishing information available and help you reel them in.  The Rodfather staff, Scott & Joellen Standard, & Che Ruble want everyone to catch your limit of fish, have a good time, and go home happy. Through the years our reputation has been created by all our great fishing friends & staff. We are proud of our "word of mouth" evaluations and thank everyone who has helped us along the way. So please join us and get ready to catch Grouper,  White Grunt,  Snapper, Black Sea Bass,  Porgy, & Trigger fish.  Remember a fun time for the whole boat is the occasional Shark,  Cobia,  King fish,  Dolphin and Jew fish.

The fare is $150.00 per person for the full day (up to six people) which includes rod, reel bait and license. 

Hours are 7:30am to 5:00pm

We still provide the open boat method so you are not responsible to find six people, we build charters first come first serve and any day except for Christmas.

This is an open fisherman. Please bring sunblock and weather appropriate clothing, it is usually cooler offshore then inshore, ten degrees can make a difference in the wintertime in the big bend area. Slickers are a great thing to have as well as hats and gloves. Bonine comforts as well as works on the emergency seasick issues.

Sadly,for our friends,family, and crew the time came to put the Apollo to rest, it is now a home on the water further down south. We have 31 years of priceless memories with many friends. We shall miss her!

We are booking every day and need 6 fares or $900.00 to run.

Reservations are to be made by  phone and a  50% deposit  is required by credit card, cash or check. Deposits will be kept unless you provide a 72 hour confirmed phone cancellation. If your trip is canceled, by the Rodfather staff, due to bad weather we can reschedule your reservations or issue a full refund on your deposit

There will be an extra fish cleaning charge on large stringers of grunts, so ask your crew about this fee.

Bring your own Food & Drink.

Please bring what you need to make yourself comfortable for a day on the water.
